Elliott NEEP

Photographe anglais

Early in 2002, I took up the vocation in photography – studying, practicing, and shooting every day. By the summer of 2002, I had garnered so much experience, I turned full-time professional and began freelancing with a property photography agency to fund UK and international travel and the inevitable equipment upgrade. In 2005, I won my first photographic award in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year and that gave me the belief to turn my wildlife photography into a full-time career. Soon after, I received my first agency contract with OSF/PhotoLibrary (now absorbed into Getty Images™), followed by a second with Frank Lane Picture Agency.

I've spent many years financing my own photography tours and travelling with my fianceé, Jacqueline, to wildlife hotspots around the world. Firstly, we began with tigers in Bandhavgarh, India - visiting the National Park up to three time per year for several years in a row. In 2006, we witnessed the death of a male tiger and subsequent cover-up by the authorities. As a consequence, we moved on to East Africa and the world famous Masai Mara National Reserve and the adjacent Conservancies. I've been fortunate to be able to return to Mara-Serengeti Eco-system many times since, both privately and in a professional capacity as a Tour Leader. In 2009, we ventured to the polar regions with unforgettable back-to-back trips around the Svalbard Archipelago and a month-long ice-breaker expedition semi-circumnavigating Antarctica.

In 2010, I was approached by ORYX to lead their photography tours to Svalbard, East Africa and India. In 2011, I was introduced to Silversea Expeditions and completed several contracts photographing onboard the Silver Explorer, for several weeks at a time. It was an extraordinary opportunity. The majority of this work was in and around the High Arctic, Svalbard Archipelago, Iceland, and Greenland. Most recently, I have agreed to work with TATRA Photography and will be co-guiding their 2019 Wrangel Island expedition.

Over my career, I've produced many articles for major photography publications, BBC Wildlife magazine and the National Press. I do not regularly enter competitions, but over my career, I've won several awards in major photography competitions including: Wildlife Photographer of the Year, International Photography Awards, Windland Smith Rice Nature's Best.

In 2017, I began shifting my focus away from stock images to producing beautiful photographic prints, remastering my best work for sale as Open Edition monochrome prints, full-colour prints, and contemporary wall art. I am currently looking for agents and galleries to work with, in respect to displaying and promoting my work.

As I write this, I have been working in the industry for over 13 years.
