Jon examines the bear\’s teeth. They are checked carefully as they can produce a lot of information about the bear\’s health and history, to the experienced eye. A \’rudimentary tooth\’ (one that the bear doesn\’t need) is also taken and kept with the bear\’s file. This can be used to age the bear.
